Editing Picture 2.. Mr. Rocky Balboa.

While taking the original picture of Manpreet (my actor) in mind I always knew of the picture I wanted to re-create, or in this case the face expression which I would want to create.  This time I went for another iconic movie. Once again Manpreet opens the door and then decides to think of how he would look if he was a boxer… and once again his little dream do come true, with his bulging 6pac and big biceps I thought I’ll let him be Rocky Balboa for the day.

I started of the editing once again by uploaded the original picture of Manpreet which I had taken, after this I used the eraser tool to remove the background around his head and then used the smudge tool to give it an almost blend effect.  Once I did this I then once again use the polygonal lasso tool to help cut out the unnecessary parts.  After that I left it to one side and start to focusing on Mr. Balboa… once uploading his picture I then duplicated the layer, leaving one locked and another for me to edit on. I started editing once again using the key tool which has helped me throughout my project the polygonal lasso tool, I then removed my actors face and smoothened out the edges using the smudge tool after that I used the transform tool to re-arrange the size of my picture and used black paint tool on the sides to colour it in.

Once again simple… if only it was that easy.

Chandip Singh Virk.. Editing 1

During the editing of my first picture I had to use the lasso tool, once using the lasso tool I realised that as I was editing I had been cutting way too much into the pictures which made annoyed me!! Because it kept happening and ruining my picture it frustrated me more!! But then with the help of the polygonal lasso tool it made my life so much easier, making it easier for me to edit and also preventing me from cutting my picture which always helps!

I then searched for the body of James Bond to replace his face with my actors, i found a great website which i used the picture from.. 

Once I uploaded the image I then edited it again using lasso polygonal tool, after editing Mr James Bonds head out I then replaced it with my actors creating the famous pose which was made.i then dragged the head of my actors and replaced it with Mr.Bonds allowing me to put it behind the layer of the suit.  This is just the start but im slowly re-creating images how Philippe Jusforgues used to do them but in my own unique way…

Evaluation

I first used adobe audition to put my sound together, mixing my sound in to make it sound smooth and carry the pictures. I then imported it to adobe premeier were i had my images set up already. I decided to use text animation in my video to carry on the story like effect I was trying to portray. My images looked fuzzy and that it why in the sound you are able to hear static noice or distorted sounds.

Editing my video was fairly easy and i arranged the pictures in accodance to the sound I had.

My images form a story of a girl who is in a dream world which is why i named the video dreamworld. You can tell this by the way the images are set up and the appearance of a  roaring mutant fruit, the colours I used are bright and i believe the audience will be drawn in with the effect of my voice.

Evaluation

For my project I decided to follow the work of Christopher Huet’s as i liked the style of his pictures, his set of light photography pictures interested me the most out of all the work that i had seen of his, so i thought that it was a good idea to base my whole exploration project around light photography.

When i first started thinking about the pictures i was going to do for this project i was was thinking about doing a mix of Christopher Huets photographys, but in the end i stuck to doing just light photography so that there was a clear link to my pictures.

Here are some of my pictures from my video sequence, before they were edited and after they were edited.

I took my images of light and added in a background as i found that when i was taken pictures in the dark the light would show up more and just leave a dark black background. I researched many different light photography tutorials to find out how these lights are captured. I found out that the light photography was to do with the shutter speed on the camera and the amount of ISO. I enjoyed playing around with the settings to see what the different settings can do to a picture.

I feel that the images that i have ended up with work well together as there is a clear link between them and the way that they have been edited have worked well. When editing the pictures i didn’t edit it hugely, the main features i used on Photoshop are the transform tool and the colour hue tool which would allow me to change the colour of my light.

I enjoyed this assignment as i was able to use software that i am familiar with such as Photoshop to edit the images and Premiere to put together the video sequence. I am happy with the outcome of my images and the way that they are edited together.

If i was to do this assignment again, i would have taken more pictures and found a way of making my images more my own rather than getting backgrounds from the internet. The sound part of my project i would change to that it went to a narrative rather than picking different sounds and putting them together to make a soundtrack that fits with the images.
